Burlap and Metal

Did you know you can buy scrap book paper in burlap print?  I found some at Hobby Lobby and new exactly what I was going to do with it!  I had bought a 5 pk of magazine boxes at Ikea for $1.99 last year and have just used them in their plain white cardboard form in my art room.  A $.59 sheet of paper and one package of Tim Holts metal frames really turned them around!  They look so much nicer in the telephone booth.

Put right back in the telephone booth.  This was an English telephone booth that my husband converted to an entertainment center years ago.  It is now in my art room and houses my TV and various supplies which I keep in vintage suitcases on the three lower shelves.

    I love this! What a great idea to dress up the plain white boxes and the metal label holders are a great touch. I may have to steal, I mean copy, this idea! : )

    I love these! Very clever! I just bought the same boxes from IKEA (intending to cover them) along with the not-so-cheap burlap boxes with the lids. I knew I could make them myself by covering shoe boxes, but I LOVED the metal frame labels! Had I known Hobby Lobby had these cute ones, I would have saved my money!     This is a great example for my readers to organize magazines with style! I love the burlap paper- it looks so real! The metal hardware gives the magazine holders a custom look. Very unique idea. Great work!
