If you are anything like me, you don't turn down free stuff, especially if it is something you can up cycle into something fabulous! I have had a cedar patio table for years. I have moved it around a time or two. Before that it was at my inlaws lake house on the pier. It never had real chairs, just those plastic stacking chairs. I had spray painted the chairs a time or two as well. We recently switched some outdoor furniture from our weekday home to our weekend house. I was still left with that hand me down cedar table.......
That table got a makeover or rather a "transformation" into something I think is fabulous!
That sweet patio sideboard looked like this at 11:00 this morning...
At 11:30, I told my hubby, "I have a brilliant idea! Go get the saw!"
We adjusted the back two legs closer to the middle of the table. Sawed the back third of the table top off. Flipped it 90 degrees and screwed it in place. I sanded down the rough weathered grain and sprayed Thompson's water seal over the whole thing. It still had the umbrella hole...perfect for the Tikki torch!
We ate dinner on the patio at 6:30! Most of the afternoon was spent fluffing the patio!
Wonderful evening with my family.
My son cooked steaks on the grill. The grill is the other project that was going on today. It still has some work to be done on it... I will put that in another post when it is finished completely.
The fire pit got transformed two years ago from a Koi pond. I couldn't keep fish in it....the owls and raccoons would get them! I hated cleaning the filter anyway!
I think its fabulous! I had so much fun seeing an idea come to life!
